Diagonal & Atresmedia Team for El Gran Salto

Diagonal, part of Banijay Iberia, and Atresmedia TV have teamed for a scripted series adaptation of Olympic gymnast Gervasio Deferr’s autobiographical book El Gran Salto.

The five-episode series will follow Deferr’s life, detailing his professional successes at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games and his personal struggles. Óscar Casas has been tapped to star as Deferr.

The series adaptation is created by José Rodríguez and is set to be directed by Roger Gual. Executive producers are Montse García, Jordi Frades and Ignasi Serra, with Jaume Banacolocha producing. Filming is slated to begin in Barcelona in April.

En Gran Salto will premiere for premium users of the Atresmedia platform atresplayer.
