David Zayas (Dexter, The Bear), Jack Alcott (Dexter: New Blood, The Good Lord Bird) and James Remar (Oppenheimer, Welcome to Derry) have been cast in Dexter: Resurrection, coming to Paramount+ with Showtime in summer 2025.

Zayas plays Detective Angel Batista, and Remar stars as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father—both roles they originated in the initial 2006 series. Alcott plays Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, who he portrayed in Dexter: New Blood. Production has now begun on the upcoming show.

The new series will also star SAG and Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) in the titular role.

Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. It is executive produced by Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin, Nurse Jackie), who also returns to the franchise to serve as showrunner. Other executive producers are Hall, Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) as producing director.

Paramount Global Content Distribution is handling the international distribution of the series.
