Paramount Global Content Distribution Picks Up M.I.A. Rights

Paramount Global Content Distribution has secured the international distribution rights to the upcoming drama M.I.A., produced by MRC (Poker Face, The Great, Ozark).

The series centers on Etta Tiger Jonze, who runs drugs for her family’s business. When that business is threatened, however, she is forced to use her wits to survive and navigate Miami’s criminal underground.

M.I.A. is created by Bill Dubuque, with Karen Campbell serving as showrunner. Alethea Jones is directing the first two episodes. Dubuque, Campbell and Jones also serve as executive producers.

The cast features Shannon Gisela, Dylan Jackson, Brittany Adebumola, Cary Elwes, Alberto Guerra, Gerardo Celasco, Maurice Compte, Marta Milans and Danay Garcia.

In the U.S., M.I.A. will debut on Peacock.
