Boat Rocker has inked a raft of international sales for its sci-fi thriller series Beacon 23.

Produced and distributed globally by Boat Rocker, the eight-episode first season has been acquired by Prime Video for Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Sub-Saharan Africa; Paramount (Channel 5, My5, Paramount+) for the U.K. and Ireland; PCCW Media (Now Studio) for Hong Kong and Macau; and Disney (Star) for Bulgaria and the Balkans.

Based on the best-selling book by Hugh Howey, Beacon 23 takes place in the farthest reaches of the Milky Way and follows Aster (Lena Headey), a government agent, and Halan (Stephan James), a stoic ex-military man, whose fates become entangled.

The first season is set to premiere on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on March 15. Season two of the series will bow on April 7 on MGM+ in the U.S.

“We’re excited for new international audiences to experience the mystery and intrigue of Beacon 23 as a result of these distribution deals with leading global broadcasters and streamers,” said Jon Rutherford, president of global rights, franchise and content strategy for Boat Rocker Studios. “With an incredible cast and dazzling effects, the series is an original sci-fi psychological thriller of the highest order that grips viewers from the opening scene.”
