Alexi Hawley Re-Ups with Lionsgate Television

Alexi Hawley, creator of The Rookie and The Recruit, has signed a new overall deal with Lionsgate Television to continue to develop and produce scripted TV series for the studio.

In addition to working on season seven of The Rookie and season two of The Recruit, Hawley and Lionsgate Television are currently developing The Envoy, a new hostage recovery series based on a Vanity Fair story about the State Department team working to bring home American hostages.

“Lionsgate is truly a great creative partner, and I’m thrilled to continue making television with them,” Hawley said.

“Alexi is one of the most talented creators working in television,” added Kevin Beggs, chair and chief creative officer of Lionsgate Television Group. “He has been instrumental to the success of The Rookie franchise and will continue to be a valuable partner for us moving forward.”
