Viu Lands Takuya Kimura Drama Series

Bulking up its slate of regional content, pan-Asian streamer Viu has acquired 12 drama series featuring popular Japanese actor and singer Takuya Kimura.

The slate includes Long Vacation, Love Generation and the Hero series. “Our commitment is to bring the best Asian content to our audiences, and without question, Takuya Kimura’s dramatic works fit that definition perfectly,” said Virginia Lim, chief content officer of Viu.

“We are very excited to be the first and only OTT platform offering these beloved titles to the viewers. The fans of Takuya Kimura will now get to watch his engaging and charming drama series on Viu at their leisure. There is no better way to enjoy time at home than watching Kimutaku classics.”

The deal with Fuji TV brings Long Vacation, A Sleeping Forest, Hero, Engine, Change, Moon Lover, Priceless—Is there such a thing?, September: The Ordinary People, Love Generation, Hundred Million Stars From The Sky, Hero Special and Hero 2014 to Viu customers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
