TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television is creating the first digital media channel on Stage TEN's live interactive platform using its new virtual TV studio web app.

The app allows live switching and mixing of video streams. Stage TEN is able to use any camera connected to the Internet to pull performers into live-streaming shows. This allows the at-home audience to engage in programming by voting for performances in real time.

Tricon plans to use Stage TEN's platform and suite of tools to create original interactive content. The channel is expected to launch in early 2015.

“Tricon is looking forward to working with Stage TEN and its proprietary platform to develop new interactive content that gives audiences an engaging live experience they can fully partake in and affect in real time,” said Andrea Gorfolova, the president of Tricon Films & Television.

“We are thrilled that such savvy film and TV players as Tricon are excited by our technology and taking the first step to open a channel and develop new styles and formats of content for our platform,” added Dave Lazar, co-founder and CEO of Stage TEN.
