Global Unveils New U.S. Acquisitions

TORONTO: NCIS: New Orleans, Constantine and Gracepoint are among the new U.S. shows set to air on Canada's Global this fall, with Heroes Reborn and Mark Burnett's miniseries The Dovekeepers slated for midseason.

Coming out of the L.A. Screenings, the Canadian broadcaster, owned by Shaw Media, has acquired for the fall Warner Bros. International Television Distribution's Stalker and Constantine, plus the comedy A to Z; CBS Studios International's Madam Secretary and NCIS: New Orleans; Shine International's Gracepoint; NBCUniveral's State of Affairs and Mulaney; Sony Pictures Television's Marry Me; and Lionsgate's FX comedy Partners. Returning to the schedule are The Blacklist, Bones, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Elementary, Family Guy, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS, NCIS: LA, The Simpsons, Sleepy Hollow and Survivor, as well as the original series Remedy, Rookie Blue and Big Brother Canada.

"Boasting two of last fall's biggest new shows The Blacklist and Sleepy Hollow, the unstoppable and ever-growing NCIS franchise, plus a slate of new heavyweights, Global is Canada's drama destination," said Barbara Williams, senior VP of content at Shaw Media. "Packing in political intrigue, mystery and star-power, our network's eight new dramas feel right at home in the schedule, in total delivering 14.5 hours of simulcast programming."
