Tricon Makes Multiple Scripted Sales

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has sold a slate of scripted programming, including IFC original productions, into various international markets.

From IFC’s catalogue, the parody miniseries The Spoils of Babylon went to FOX in the U.K. and ABC2 Australia, as well as C More in Scandinavia and STUDIOCANAL in France, with DVD/EST rights going to Beyond Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand and EST rights to iTunes in Canada and the U.K. The comedy interview show Maron was nabbed by FOX in the U.K., ABC2 and Inflight Productions for Air New Zealand and Thai Airways, with Beyond Entertainment again picking up DVD/EST rights along with iTunes Canada and U.K. taking EST rights. Other IFC sales included the late-night-talk-show riff Comedy! Bang! Bang! being sold to Avjet for TransAsia Airways and the sketch comedy show The Birthday Boys bought by Australia’s SBS2, and iTunes Canada and Beyond Digital going for its DVD/EST rights.

Additional sales included NBCU/Syfy Australia acquiring a third broadcast window for seasons one through four of the sci-fi series Sanctuary. That show also went to Russian Report and to Pyramid Entertainment for Saudi Arabia, with NBCU/Syfy renewing the series in Benelux. Finally, Poland’s TV Puls went for the sci-fi Forbidden Science and the action comedy InSecurity.
