Tricon Adds New Programming to Slate

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has picked up eight new lifestyle, factual and comedy series from Farpoint Films, HSM Management and Architect Films.

From Architect Films, Tricon secured Ice Cold Cash, a fast-paced food-trivia show that’s unapologetically uncomplicated, and Deck Wars, a competition series to see who can build the best deck in a restricted amount of time. From HSM Management, Tricon picked up Ad Factory, which reveals the inner workings of television’s most influential advertisements, as well as Innovation Lab, a series of documentaries that unveil the secrets of companies that have successfully implemented cutting-edge business models. In addition, Tricon opted for Mark It, a series that examines online and mobile marketing, the power of ideas, celebrity branding, entertainment marketing and the new powers held by social networks.

Tricon also picked up four series from Farpoint Films, including House Party, a scripted comedy series that follows the course of events of an out-of-control house party. Willy’s Garage features host Paul Williamson traveling the country for unique vehicles that his expert team attempts to replicate, while The Medicine Line takes viewers on a road trip with cinematographer Dave Gaudet as he travels throughout North America, across the Maritimes, Great Plains and mountains to discover the art and history of Aboriginal peoples. Also from Farpoint is Lost Bones: In Search of Sitting Bull’s Grave, an hour-long special about the remains of the famed Sioux leader Sitting Bull, and The Paper Nazis, a documentary that examines extremist groups that operated in Winnipeg during the 1930s.

“We are excited to be adding these engaging new shows with tremendous international appeal to our growing catalogue,” said Jon Rutherford, the VP of international sales and acquisitions at Tricon Films & Television.
