The Amazing Race Canada Returning for Season Five

TORONTO: CTV has renewed The Amazing Race Canada for a fifth season, setting the stage to celebrate the country’s 150th anniversary in 2017.

Casting for the upcoming fifth season is now open. Fans of the competition series can prep their auditions for submission up to December 1.

The Amazing Race Canada is the number one summer series in the country. Season four averaged 1.9 million viewers.

“After a nail-biting fourth season, Canadian viewers made it clear they are invested in the unstoppable adventure that is The Amazing Race Canada,” said Mike Cosentino, the senior VP of CTV and specialty at Bell Media. “The series’ exhilarating challenges and unpredictability, combined with a distinct Canadian charm, continues to captivate viewers across the country. We’re excited to bring a fifth season of the biggest race in the nation to Canadians in 2017.”
