Temple Street Creates New Digital Post

TORONTO: Temple Street Productions has promoted Michel Pratte to VP of Media Ventures, effectively immediately.

As the head of the newly established department, which is meant to drive Temple Street’s growth into digital media, Pratte is charged with overseeing the company’s expansion in the original digital content arena. His initial responsibility is to form a strong team to create innovative digital and video projects. Prior to his promotion, Pratte was the director of strategy and business development.

John Young, the company’s managing director, remarked: "Michel has been with Temple Street since 2008 and has excelled in various corporate development roles. He brings with him the unique and invaluable combination of strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the creative development process. Temple Street has made a commitment to expand our company to take advantage of new avenues for content creators in the digital and traditional media arenas. Michel’s strong entrepreneurial work ethic made him the natural choice to lead our newly created Media Ventures division. Michel has consistently shown an ability to lead new initiatives and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and we could not be more pleased as he takes on this challenge."

"For years we’ve wanted to become more active in supporting the creation of original content for ‘new’ media (a term that is quickly becoming dated)," added Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier, co-presidents of Temple Street. "We’ve enjoyed success with web-based projects that we produced to support our television projects, but we’ve been looking for the opportunity to really dive into non-traditional content creation. For a variety of reasons, we think the time is right for Temple Street to move aggressively into this space, and we think Michel is the perfect choice to lead the way. The Media Ventures group has some really exciting projects coming up that we can’t wait to tell people about."
