TORONTO: The Fremantle Corporation has picked up the new comedy format Touring T.O. and closed licensing deals with several broadcasters worldwide ahead of NATPE.

Touring T.O. is a scripted comedy that follows two unlikely friends and their intern who run a low-budget rickshaw tour company specializing in taking tourists to unique and obscure city landmarks. Toronto-based producers Crazy Shirt Productions developed the show.

Additionally, the company has sold various titles around the globe, with Ignition Africa picking up two more series in the Funkmaster Flex brand, Car Wars with Funkmaster Flex and Full Throttle with Funkmaster Flex. AXN Africa secured season three of Bikini Beach, while RAI in Italy acquired a slew of stage-to-screen content, including Direct from Broadway titles Jekyll & Hyde and Sophisticated Ladies. RAI also picked up Caesar and Cleopatra and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Sophisticated Ladies is making its debut in Brazil on Globosat, along with season two of Lingerie. RTL Belgium nabbed Tarzan, while Shout! Factory in the U.S. and Canada picked up The Campbells for home video.

“We are excited to head into NATPE with a new format that has strong international potential and a great collection of sales closed,” said newly appointed CEO Brad Pelman. “We are looking forward to a successful 2015 and kicking it all off in Miami.”
