Mohawk Girls to Stream on CBC Gem

Rezolution Pictures’ Mohawk Girls will be available on the free CBC Gem streaming service as of March 13 as part of the Oh! Canada! Retro Favourites collection.

CBC licensed all five seasons of the show, which originally aired on APTN. Mohawk Girls takes a comedic look at the lives of four modern-day women trying to stay true to their roots while navigating sex, work, love and what it means to be Mohawk in the 21st century.

Rezolution also has a number of new productions in the works, including feature-length documentaries, as well as factual and scripted series. Docs include Searching for Cleopatra, co-produced with Handel Productions and Arrow Media for the CBC, and The Nature of Things (Canada), Science Channel (U.S.) and Channel 5 (U.K). The company is working on two factual series with APTN: Gespe’gewa’gi: The Last Land, about the Mi’gmaq men and women of the Listuguj Reserve, and Lands Enchanted, which explores the tales of mysterious places where earth meets the supernatural. A Canada/Germany co-production called Truth and Lies is co-produced with Taglicht Media (Germany) for TVO and Knowledge (Canada) and ZDF (Germany) for delivery at the end of 2020/beginning of 2021. Red Fever is produced for Canadian networks TVO, APTN, SRC and Knowledge as the third installment in a trilogy of feature documentaries about the influence of Indigenous peoples on popular culture.

As for scripted series, Rezolution has partnered on a variety of projects to range from 30-minute comedies to hour-long action and horror dramas, from collaborators including Jackie May (Van Helsing, 19-2), Matt Huether (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Mary Kills People), Clive Bradley (Trapped), Marie Clements (Red Snow), Wil Zmak (Bitten, Carter) and Josh Gal (Hotel Transylvania: The Series, What Would Sal Do?).
