MarVista & Arnie Zipursky Unveil Neshama Entertainment

MarVista Entertainment has set up a new company with Canadian producer Arnie Zipursky (Undercover Grandpa, Sled Dogs) called Neshama Entertainment.

Based in Toronto, Neshama will source Canadian creative content for development, production and distribution. The company will also look for Canadian co-pro partners and talent, including actors, writers, editors, directors, producers and cinematographers. MarVista will be a minority shareholder in Neshama, overseeing international distribution outside of Canada for the content developed and produced under the banner.

Zipursky will serve as co-founder and executive producer at Neshama, while MarVista CEO Fernando Szew joins the company’s board of directors alongside Cyril Drabinsky, who most recently was vice chairman of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group.

Szew stated: “There is a wealth of creative talent in Canada and by partnering with Arnie Zipursky on Neshama, we’re able to empower these content creators and producers by offering an independent partner who can leverage its global relationships to generate funding, co-production partners and presales around the world. Arnie and his team will focus on development, production and Canadian distribution, creating an ideal partnership that provides MarVista with a great pipeline of engaging entertainment content for the vast content needs of our clients and partners in the U.S. and other regions. I am proud and honored to be working with Arnie, who is truly one of the gems in this industry.”

“Neshama is encouraging Canadian creatives from Victoria to Newfoundland to bring their ideas, concepts, scripts and talents to us for the development of independent miniseries, movies and series,” added Zipursky. “Similarly, if global broadcasters or production companies are looking for Canadian co-production opportunities, Neshama is the one-stop shop for sourcing accomplished talent and innovative entertainment concepts.”
