TORONTO: Neil Court, who co-founded DECODE Entertainment, and Carrie Mudd, a former development executive at Tricon Films & Television, are behind the new production company, Peacock Alley Entertainment.

Peacock Alley creates, develops and produces across factual and scripted programming as well as digital content. It will also serve as a bespoke distributor.

Mudd was formerly with Tricon, having launched the company’s foreign sales division. She most recently served there as the senior VP of development and co-production.

Court co-founded DECODE in 1997, serving as the president of DECODE Enterprises when it came under the DHX Media banner. He left DHX in 2009 to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, but remained on the board as a non-executive director until last year.

Mudd commented, "We recognize there are enormous opportunities in the ever-evolving television market for a nimble company willing to take creative chances and explore new financing models. It’s an exciting time to launch Peacock Alley." She continued, “Neil has an extensive entrepreneurial track record and his international background is a great complement to my own. We’ve known one another for a long time and his strategic thinking, international profile and contacts will be invaluable to Peacock Alley.”

Court elaborated, “I’ve long admired Carrie’s abilities and success as a producer and distributor. She’s got a very strong creative track record and a proven understanding of the global television market. It’s a privilege to be in business with her.”
