Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium Unveils Coverage Plans

TORONTO: Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium is set to deliver more than 5,500 hours of coverage during the 17 days of the London 2012 Games.

The plans are to deliver more than 2,000 hours of TV coverage in 11 different languages. English-language coverage on TV will include CTV, TSN, Sportsnet and OLN. French-language TV coverage includes RDS and V. OMNI.1, OMNI1 and ATN will deliver coverage in multiple languages. Linear coverage will be complemented by more than 3,500 hours of digital content. Coverage will be available online and on mobile devices at CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca. Live streaming will be available from CTV, RDS, TSN, Sportsnet and V. Additional live streaming of events will be generated from various Olympic venues.

“We are committed to bringing Canadians a robust Olympic Games experience, whether on television or digital platforms,” said Adam Ashton, the president of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. “With 26 sports, plus a sizeable time difference and so many people on the go during the summer, it is important to provide Canadians with a choice on how, when, and where they want to consume London 2012 content.”
