Corus Grows Scripted Slate with Nurses, Departure

Corus Entertainment has revealed its 2019-2020 slate, which features 40 newly commissioned seasons and titles.

Corus has added to its scripted slate with the character-driven drama Nurses and Canada/U.K. co-production Departure, starring Archie Panjabi and Christopher Plummer. There will be returning seasons of the detective drama Private Eyes and the historical drama Vikings.

In the way of unscripted lifestyle content, there’s Wall of Chefs, The Big Bake and the kid cooking series Junior Chef Showdown. In the home and renovation arena, Big Home Overhaul and Hot Market complement returning hits such as Property Brothers, Island of Bryan and Home to Win.

Corus has also lined up local versions of hit franchises such as Big Brother Canada and Top Chef Canada with returning seasons this year, along with new episodes of Iron Chef Canada.

For the younger set, the preschool series The Remarkable Mr. King joins Corus’s roster of animated content.
