Corus Entertainment Reveals Lineup for 2022-23

Corus Entertainment has unveiled its complete lineup of original content for 2022-23, which comprises 45 total greenlights and renewals.

“Corus is proud to showcase a standout lineup of Canadian original content featuring dynamic formats, charismatic personalities and renewals of fan-favorite series with homegrown talent from Corus Studios, Nelvana and our valued production partners,” said Colin Bohm, executive VP of content and corporate strategies at Corus Entertainment. “Our expanding portfolio of original shows is driving significant growth in the key pillars of lifestyle, factual, kids and scripted series, as we remain dedicated to creating premium content with diverse, engaging narratives and uniquely Canadian voices appealing to audiences across the country and on an international scale.”

Global, for one, has a scripted slate that includes season two of last fall’s number one new Canadian series: Family Law, which was recently greenlit for a third season. Also coming up on Global is season two of the Canada/Ireland co-production Departure, starring Emmy winner Archie Panjabi and Oscar winner Christopher Plummer. From filmmaker Director X and Boat Rocker, Robyn Hood is a modern reimagining of the classic Robin Hood story. Additionally, ET Canada is back on Global for season 18, and ET Canada Weekend has been renewed for season two.

W Network spotlights the prolific career of sex educator Sue Johanson in Sex with Sue. The network also adds the romantic movies The Love Club, with the first set to premiere on W Network in winter 2023.

Food Network Canada’s new greenlights include Top Chef Canada, which is making its return for a milestone tenth season. There will be a third season of the larger-than-life-themed baking series The Big Bake. Great Chocolate Showdown returns for a fourth season. The channel will also see new episodes of Fire Masters and Big Food Bucket List.

The HISTORY Channel has lined up True Story, which offers a critical lens to the past, revealing some shameful and heartbreaking truths, as well as uplifting and inspiring hope. Our War uncovers stories about extraordinary individuals who made heroic contributions to WWI and WWII. Deadman’s Curse follows a diverse team of explorers on a quest to find a legendary cursed gold mine in B.C. Backroad Truckers, Big Timber, Lost Car Rescue and Rust Valley Restorers all return this year, along with Salvage Kings.

HGTV Canada has on its slate new episodes of Island of Bryan, along with a new untitled Baeumler project and Renovation Resort, which will see Baeumler will team up with co-host Scott McGillivray. Also for McGillivray, there’s a fourth season of Scott’s Vacation House Rules. Sarah Richardson leads Sarah’s Mountain Escape, while Pamela Anderson is featured in Pamela’s Garden of Eden. Ali Budd leads a creative team to renovate and build million-dollar renovations in Ali Budd (working title). Sebastian Clovis returns for a second season of Gut Job, and Hoarder House Flippers is also back with new episodes. There are also new episodes of Rock Solid Builds, Farmhouse Facelift, Making it Home with Kortney and Kenny and Property Brothers: Forever Home.
