TORONTO: Shaw Media has given the go-ahead to a third season of the culinary competition title Chopped Canada, which will air on Food Network Canada next year.

Shaw Media will again partner with Canadian outfit Paperny Entertainment to produce the show’s third run. The title pits four chefs against the clock—and each other—for a chance to win $10,000. The new season is set to include a special teen tournament.

“Canada has an appetite for more Chopped Canada and we’re thrilled to be working with Paperny Entertainment on a third season of this hugely successful franchise,” said Christine Shipton, the senior VP of content at Shaw Media. “The return of the series promises to up the ante with new additions, including the teen tournament, which we know will keep viewers of all ages on the edge of their seats and hungry for more.”

“We are elated with the success of the past two seasons of Chopped Canada and are excited to work with Food Network Canada on a third installment of the series,” commented Cal Shumiatcher, a partner at Paperny Entertainment. “We have new tricks up our sleeve and we are excited for viewers to experience it all.”
