Canada’s Showcase Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Channel Refresh

TORONTO: The Canadian channel Showcase, which is dedicated to premium drama, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a new look, logo and voice, kicking off this week.

Showcase’s new logo and on-air look are meant to reflect the channel’s "big and dramatic" sensibility, according to the network. The logo is a throwback to the original Showcase logo, though with a contemporary design reflecting the new programming. The new logo anchors all of the on-air elements—from station ID tags to advertiser billboards—and is complemented by an interchangeable color scheme used in customized branded image spots.

The channel’s new tagline, “SHOWCASE: Beyond Ordinary,” was created to represent the innovative programming available on the channel. The refresh leads into a slate of new spring premieres, including the return of Outlander, as well as The Musketeers and Beauty and the Beast.

“As one of Shaw Media’s most-watched specialty channels, we knew we had to create a new look that would act as an extension of the channel’s programming evolution and appeal to our discerning viewers,” said Amanda Ploughman, the VP of marketing at Showcase parent company Shaw Media. “The result is a new look and logo that pays homage to the past 20 years, while taking a fresh and clever approach that fans and advertisers alike will enthusiastically embrace.”
