SINGAPORE: The pan-regional RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network has shored up the rights to The X Factor UK, which will air live via satellite with an encore broadcast in prime time.

“This is the first time that The X Factor UK is being made available to audiences outside the U.K.," said Jennifer Batty, executive VP of programming at RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network. "In Asia, we have historically seen mostly talent competitions from the U.S. and local versions of popular formats. We are committed to delivering new and unique entertainment programs to our audiences and we are confident that viewers in the region will enjoy The X Factor UK.”

In its 11th season on ITV, the FremantleMedia International-distributed talent competition will see the return of Simon Cowell as a judge, sitting alongside Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Mel B.

RTL CBS Entertainment HD is available in Malaysia on HyppTV, in the Philippines on SKYcable and Cablelink, in Singapore on Singtel mio TV and StarHub, in Indonesia on K Visions and in Thailand on TrueVisions. It is one of two channels operated by RTL CBS Entertainment HD, a joint venture of the RTL Group and CBS Studios International.
