WarnerTV Joins Turner Asia Portfolio

HONG KONG: Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific is taking on full operational responsibility in the region for WarnerTV, a general-entertainment channel that was previously managed by HBO Asia.

WarnerTV, delivering series and films from Warner Bros. Entertainment, will now sit alongside brands like Cartoon Network and CNN in the Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific bouquet. “This announcement makes a bold statement, and demonstrates Turner’s commitment to general entertainment and to audiences that are passionate about great television," said Ricky Ow, the president of Turner International Asia Pacific. "With the addition of WarnerTV, the Turner portfolio now includes Asia Pacific’s best-loved brands in the news, kids and general entertainment genres. We’re very proud to be able to share all of these fantastic brands with viewers across the region.”

Available in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Palau, Cambodia and Papua New Guinea, WarnerTV is planning to double its output of first-run series this year and increase its programming hours by 30 percent. Upcoming highlights include Major Crimes, Almost Human, Arrow, Longmire and Person of Interest.
