Virginia Lim Upped at SPT Networks Asia

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks, Asia, has promoted Virginia Lim to the post of senior VP and general manager, overseeing the company’s portfolio in Southeast Asia and China.

Lim is based in Singapore and reports to George Chien, executive VP for the Asia Pacific at SPT Networks. In addition to overseeing the management and operations of SPT Networks’ portfolio in Southeast Asia and in China, she will be responsible for distribution and advertising revenues and overall content strategy. Lim has been with SPT Networks, Asia, since 2008.

“Virginia is a highly respected leader in Asia with a proven track record of delivering premium content throughout the region,” said Chien. “With content being core to SPT Networks, Asia, Virginia’s business leadership will solidify our ability to maintain our strength in linear television while executing our soon-to-be-announced digital, direct-to-consumer businesses. Additionally, with the new infrastructure that Virginia is putting in place, I am confident that she will drive new innovations that adapt to the consumer needs.”

Lim’s team includes Derek Wong as VP of production and Avani Bhanchawat as VP of advertising and sponsorship sales. The operations in Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines continue to report to Chien.
