Talpa & Tencent Launch Social-Experiment Format Online in China

HILVERSUM: Talpa and the Chinese online group Tencent have launched The 15 of Us, a new reality format developed for digital broadcasting.

The 15 of Us, based on the concept of Talpa's Utopia, is set for the online digital platform Tencent Video. More than 100,000 individuals applied to take part in the social experiment, which sees 15 people from all across China stranded together on an isolated mountain. There, they must set up a sort of civilization, being self-sufficient and using all that the land has to offer.

Many of China’s national festivals will be integrated into the program, notably those reflecting the Chinese Lunar Calendar and the country’s traditional seasonal changes. The launch of the program on Dragon TV is scheduled for next Monday, June 29.
