STAR Chinese Movies to Air Golden Horse Awards

HONG KONG: For the first time ever, the Golden Horse Awards are set to broadcast in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and countries across Asia via STAR Chinese Movies (SCM).

The awards ceremony, which is often referred to as the Oscars of Taiwan, will air live on November 23 in Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand through SCM. The FOX International Channels service is the only network to broadcast the awards event on this wide of a global scale.

In addition to the linear broadcast, the 50th Golden Horse Awards will simulcast live in Hong Kong on SCM Play, SCM's authenticated player. The awards will also be made available as on-demand catch-up content on SCM Play in Singapore one week after the live broadcast.

“SCM is proud to be bringing the prestigious Golden Horse Awards this year to so many countries around the world, especially as many of the films from our lineup have garnered such an impressive number of nominations,” said Cora Yim, the senior VP of the Chinese channels group at FOX International Channels. “This is just the beginning of Chinese content’s rise in popularity not just across Asia but in western countries as well, and FIC will continue to lead the curve in catering to this need globally.”
