Southern Star Entertainment Gets Rebranded

SYDNEY: Southern Star Entertainment, which was fully acquired by Endemol in 2009, is rebranding to become Endemol Australia.

Southern Star Entertainment will continue to create new drama and entertainment series for the global market, while also producing Endemol programming. The rebranding follows a number of key hires meant to bolster the company's creative team. The transition, which will be taking place over the next few months, is expected to be completed by February.

Janeen Faithfull, the CEO of Southern Star Entertainment, remarked: "As Endemol Australia we'll continue to build on the heritage and successes of Southern Star.

"Since the '70s this company has had several different incarnations and has evolved through the decades with a strong and valuable identity in drama and children’s programs, and more recently in factual, reality and entertainment. We now produce content across all genres and media."

She added: "Today we continue to be one of the most successful and prolific production companies in Australia and we belong to the Endemol group, the world's largest independent production company, with around 90 companies in over 30 countries. We're proud of that association."
