Singaporean Companies Bring 600-plus Hours of Content to MIPCOM

SINGAPORE/CANNES: Companies from Singapore have arrived at MIPCOM to present more than 600 hours of new, original television and animation content, as well as fresh seasons of returning shows.

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) is leading a delegation of 16 media companies, including live action and animation producers from Singapore, as well as distributors such as August Media, Infinite Studios, MediaCorp, One Animation, Beach House Pictures and Parade Media Group. Singaporean content on display at the market spans factual, drama, infotainment, lifestyle and children's.

Among the content for younger viewers, there is the animated series ShutterBugs, produced by Infinite Frameworks; SkyShakers, from Monstrou Studios; and Leo the Wildlife Ranger and Gnome from Omens Studios.

New seasons of returning shows on display from Singapore this MIPCOM include Dinosaur Train, Undercover Asia, The Food Detectives and Counting with Paula. New content geared toward Asian audiences includes titles such as Instant Noodles Diary, Master Chefs and Cash Cab Asia. Other upcoming titles include the preschool series Teddies and Cheezles from Beach House Pictures; the kids’ animated series Nightbreeds from Monstrou Studios, Sweatbox S.L and TV3 – Televisio de Catalunya; and My Faith and Garden Gang by M'GO Films.

At the market, Beach House Pictures, an independent production house, has secured a co-production deal with Canadian production company Breakthrough Entertainment for the tween TV series Mr Midnight, based on the book series of the same name.

Meanwhile, Victorious, a technology platform that powers interactive apps for the world's biggest creators and their super fan communities, has announced that its Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern operations will be headquartered in Singapore. The company will be working with some of Singapore's creators and TV networks, including Night Owl Cinematics, Tree Potatoes and FashionOne.

In addition, Hub Media Group has been appointed by FiTA Studios Malaysia as the exclusive worldwide distributor for their upcoming film, titled Chowrasta. FiTA Studios Malaysia will also co-invest in three of Hub Media's co-productions: The Eco-Warriors, Project Inspire and Batoor: A Refugee's Journey. Hub Media will serve as the worldwide distributor for these three titles.
