Reliance Entertainment Backs New Content Studio

India’s Reliance Entertainment has established Dreamers & Doers Co., a new content studio that is already working on an adaptation of the Irish thriller Blood for Disney+ Hotstar.

The venture is being set up with an “idea- and creator-first policy,” and is working on bringing scripted and non-scripted formats to India, in addition to developing new ideas with creators, directors, showrunners and writers.

Dreamers & Doers Co. is being led by Namit Sharma, whose career has included stints at ZEE, Sony Entertainment Television and Yashraj Films. He has worked on a number of series with Reliance, including Kaushiki, Girlfriends and Yo Ke Hua Bro on Voot; and Black Widows on Zee5.

Sharma, CEO of Dreamers & Doers Co., noted, “I am excited to take this new step in my journey with Reliance Entertainment. Blood for a Disney+ Hotstar is being directed by Mihir Desai (Mirzapur), with Gurmmeet Singh (Mirzapur, Inside Edge) as showrunner.
