Nippon TV Launching Pair of New Dramas

Nippon TV has revealed a slate of six new titles that it will be launching to the international market at MIPCOM, with two one-hour dramas among them.

Overprotected Kahoko is from the team that created the hit Japanese drama I’m Mita, Your Housekeeper. The new drama chronicles the growth and transformation of an over-protected child, presenting the experiences and struggles of a young woman who becomes the head of her family.

My Lover’s Secret is a mystery that follows a young man, his mother and the love of his life. It questions how far someone will go in accepting their loved one’s secret.

Nippon TV also has a roster of new formats, including the scripted series My Son. The hour-long format follows as three women learn what it takes to become a mother amidst the struggles and pain. In regard to non-scripted formats, Witness the Fitness is a studio-based game show in which different professions face off against each other to test the skills of various body parts. Impress Us is a social experiment in which participants answer questions and create original performances that lead to shocking revelations and somewhat embarrassing moments in front of fixed cameras around the city. Judges then decide on the most entertaining performance. YES MAN discovers the world is a reality format that sees YES MAN travel the world having to say nothing but “yes” to anything offered.
