The company is also presenting the family drama Her Mother’s Daughter, which tackles how surrogacy’s outcome entangles two young women in a fierce struggle for fortune, status and affection. Against All Odds speaks to female empowerment and traces a simple woman’s transformation in her bid to reclaim her son from the man she once loved and take revenge on his family who wronged her.

Evelyn Raymundo, the company’s VP of integrated program acquisitions and international distribution, says that family dramas and romance are always in demand, “but they need to contain unique elements to the story, whether it’s the milieu, non-traditional characters and portrayals or underlying themes.”
