MGM Signs Streaming Deal for China

BEIJING: MGM Television is making its new theatrical releases available on a Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) basis in China through Jiaflix Enterprises, while more than 200 classic library films will be delivered for SVOD.

Jiaflix/M1905 is an Internet-delivered programming service operated in partnership with M1905.com, the official Internet subsidiary of China Movie Channel/CCTV6. Under the agreement, new MGM titles such as the upcoming RoboCop and Hercules will become available on the Jiaflix/M1905.com website starting in 2014 through TVOD. Around 200 classic films, among them Midnight Cowboy, Dressed to Kill and The Thomas Crown Affair, will be available to Jiaflix subscribers via SVOD.
