Kako Kuwahara Elevated to MD of IBD at Nippon TV

Nippon TV has promoted Kako Kuwahara to managing director for the company’s international business development (IBD) division.

Kuwahara previously served as associate managing director. In her new role, she will work out of Tokyo under Atsushi Hatayama, president of international business development at Nippon TV. She will manage all areas of IBD with the executives from the division reporting to her.

Earlier in her career, Kuwahara held positions in the production, public relations, sales and pay-TV departments at Nippon TV. She first joined the company’s IBD arm in 2015.

“We believe that with the leadership, devotion and expertise of Kako, our IBD division will continue to strengthen as we further expand our footprint in the international marketplace,” said Hatayama. “Kako is a well-respected executive at Nippon TV and it is my honor to be making this announcement.”
