Singtel will offer its customers a free trial of HOOQ and will bundle the streaming service into a variety of its plans as part of an expanded distribution deal between the two companies.

Singtel—which launched HOOQ in partnership with Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures Television in 2015—will offer its postpaid mobile, broadband and TV customers a free trial of HOOQ’s VOD service for up to six months. A range of Singtel plans will also include HOOQ. As part of the expanded alliance, HOOQ will gain access to select titles from Singtel’s library of Chinese-language content.

“With mobile, broadband and TV delivering complete connectivity in our lives, on-demand access to good content is valued more than ever before,” said Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO for consumer Singapore at Singtel. “We are excited to provide our customers with more world-class entertainment from HOOQ at the tip of their fingers.”

Peter Bithos, CEO of HOOQ, added, “Working with market leaders such as Singtel and its network of regional associates has always played an important role in our business strategy. We have rapidly grown our footprint across Southeast Asia thanks to key partnerships such as this one, and we foresee this agreement helping us accelerate our growth and drive to a leadership position in our home market.”
