Fox Networks Group Asia Snaps Up Family Movies from MarVista

LOS ANGELES: Fox Networks Group Asia has licensed four family films, Jessica Darling’s It List among them, from MarVista Entertainment to air throughout the region on Fox Family Movies.

In addition to Jessica Darling’s It List, Fox Networks Group Asia acquired Annabelle Hooper and the Ghosts of Nantucket, Raising the Bar and The Soccer Nanny. Jessica Darling’s It List is based on a book by New York Times best-selling author Megan McCafferty. It tells the story of Jessica Darling, whose popular older sister Bethany bestows upon her the “It List,” a cheat sheet on how to be cool in middle school.

In Annabelle Hooper and the Ghosts of Nantucket, a group of young friends investigate a 200-year-old mystery that is uncovered by 15-year-old Annabelle, an aspiring novelist. The friends dive headfirst into a world of gentlemanly thieves, eccentric psychics and a shadowy figure dressed in white as they follow a trail of clues.

The movie Raising the Bar centers on a 16-year-old girl who moves to Australia from the U.S. to escape her high-pressure life as a gymnast. She must regain her confidence and come to terms with her past after a difficult performance in her last competition.

In The Soccer Nanny, Helen, a recently widowed mother, hires Norwegian soccer player Oddmund to nanny her two sons. Following some misunderstandings with the law, Oddmund opts to return home, and Helen must try to convince him that he is part of her family.

“Given our extensive library of movies, MarVista is in a position to offer various genres, stories with global appeal, globally recognizable casting, engaging themes, superior writing and impeccable direction and productions,” said Robby Amar, the executive director of distribution at MarVista. “Our partners like Fox Networks Group Asia know they can depend on MarVista’s movies to engage viewers across all demographics.”
