FIC Appoints Territory Head for Malaysia

HONG KONG: Vineet Puri has been tapped to lead the Malaysian operations of FOX International Channels (FIC), a post that sees him relocating from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur.

Puri will be responsible for FIC Malaysia’s P&L, business operations, growing ad sales revenue and deepening the network’s relationships with its key affiliate partners, including Astro, HyppTV and Telekom Malaysia. Puri joined FIC in 2012 from ESPN STAR Sports after the two entities merged as a result of 21st Century Fox’s buyout of the sports network joint venture, where he was leading advertising sales for Southeast Asia.

Joon Lee, the managing director for Hong Kong and Southeast Asia at FOX International Channels, said, “Malaysia is a very key market for us and Vineet was a natural choice to lead our business there. He is a well-rounded executive with a talent for developing new business and building relationships as well as a deep understanding of local operations. I have no doubt with Vineet’s experience and affable personality, he will lead our team in Malaysia to great achievements.”

Puri added, “I am delighted and honored to be taking up the role of leading and growing FIC’s business in Malaysia, an important market for the network. I look forward to working closely with our affiliate and ad sales partners there to develop new opportunities to collaborate and ensuring that we continue to be an exceptional partner to them.”
