Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Appoints Research VP

SINGAPORE: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP) has appointed Julie Petersen to the role of VP of research, based in Singapore.

Reporting to Kevin Dickie, the senior VP of content group, Petersen will head up the research department for DNAP in the Asia Pacific. Petersen will oversee all broadcast, marketing, brand and Internet research for DNAP in the region. In addition, Petersen will plan and direct policies, objectives and initiatives, working with various country managers and the senior management team to support local market needs.

Prior to joining Discovery, Petersen worked in Hong Kong with Media E2E, a media services company that she co-founded. She was also the VP of strategic planning and research with Star TV in Hong Kong and ITV in the U.K.

“Julie is a veteran of the media industry, and with her vast experience we are certain that she will be instrumental in helping shape the strategy for our business in the region,” Dickie said. “We are very pleased to welcome Julie to the Discovery family.”
