CJ E&M Adds Female Rap Show to Mnet Lineup

SEOUL: Later this month, CJ E&M's music channel Mnet is slated to debut Unpretty Rapstar, Korean's first female rap battle reality series.

Unpretty Rapstar will look on as a group of female rappers—including Jolly V, Cheetah, Ji Min, Tymee, Kisum, Lil Cham and Ji Dam Yuk—compete to create the country's first rap compilation album. The show will air on Mnet every Thursday at 11 p.m. beginning January 29. It is a spin-off of the network's Show Me the Money, which saw female contestants vying for the chance to be featured in a new song made by respected hip-hop producers.
