China’s Croton Media Group in Co-Development Deal with Sony

BEIJING: Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and its Australian Production subsidiary Playmaker Media have signed a co-development contract with China’s Croton Media Group for an English-language drama for the Chinese and international markets.

Croton and SPT previously co-produced a local version of the comedy Mad About You for China last year. It was the first adaptation of this comedic series in Asia by SPT. Now, the two plan to work together on one of Croton’s epic fantasy series as part of the Super IP (SIP) program. The rights for this SIP will be jointly owned by Croton, SPT and Playmaker.
