AXN Beyond to Become beTV

SINGAPORE: Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia is rebranding the AXN Beyond channel as beTV across Asia, starting April 2.

beTV will feature an expanded content lineup and new on- and off-air look and feel. The slate will include the Rob Schneider sitcom Rob, the reality show I Get That A Lot and scripted series such as Everybody Loves Raymond and Touched By An Angel. Drama on the roster will include Sherlock, Teen Wolf, Supernatural, How To Be a Gentleman and Grey’s Anatomy. The rebrand will be seen in 15 markets, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

“We have been broadening the appeal of AXN Beyond by introducing a wider range of programming such as Pan Am, Necessary Roughness and A Gifted Man,” said Ricky Ow, the senior VP and general manager for the networks in Asia at Sony Pictures Television. Renaming the channel to beTV better reflects the broad general entertainment service that it offers. We believe beTV will soon become the new entertainment ‘hang-out’ for viewers to relax, laugh, catch up with their favorite characters and shows, or just unwind after a long day.”
