Australia & China Strengthen Creative Ties

BRISBANE: A new pact signed between Screen Producers Australia and the China Film Producers Association aims to strengthen the collaboration between content producers in both territories across film, TV and digital media.

Both trade bodies singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in an effort to bring together producers across the Asia Pacific. There will be several possibilities for content creators to connect through the MOU, including meetings with the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF). The goal is to ease the way for more co-productions between Australian and Chinese producers.

Matthew Deaner, executive director of Screen Producers Australia, said of the signing: “There is huge potential for China and Australia to work together more collaboratively in this arena. We have much to learn from each other and, given our growing trade and cultural ties, screen producers in Australia see great value and opportunity in working more closely with our Chinese colleagues through our industry associations.”
