The Asian Academy of Creative Arts hosted an exclusive industry round table and networking event in Taipei to celebrate creative excellence within the Taiwan film and TV industry.

The invitation-only event featured guest of honor Sue Wang, Deputy Minister of Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture; Celeste Ting, former Deputy Minister and current chairperson of Yoosonn Entertainment; and Cindy Ma, Warner Bros. Discovery executive.

AACA’s ambassador for Taiwan, Steven Lim, welcomed guests overseas and introduced Deputy Minister Wang, who invited international productions to shoot in Taiwan, pointing to attractive incentives and a highly developed local industry.

The event honored past winners of the Asian Academy Creative Awards, including actress Candy Yang, producer Dennis Yang, editor Lee Chun Hong and Formosa News anchor/producer Chen Chen Lee. They were introduced by Singapore-based AACA chief executive and media lawyer Fiona McKay.

Emmy Award-winning producer and director and AACA President Michael McKay flew in from Singapore to moderate the round table discussion. He highlighted the key advantages Taiwan offers the international production industry and courage the audience to benefit from foreign expertise in telling their own stories.

“Taiwan is already a keen player when it comes to international co-production,” he said before encouraging the local industry to grasp its opportunities. “This is your time.”
