Astro Names New Head of Sports

Nick John has been named VP and head of sports at Malaysia’s Astro, succeeding CK Lee.

John has been with Astro since 2010, joining as senior sports producer from a stint at ESPN Star Sports. He was recently elevated to head of the local sports channel Astro Arena. In his new post he reports to Agnes Rozario, director of content.

“We are extremely proud of CK and grateful for his achievements in raising the bar for sports and talent, and wish him all the best as he moves on to a regional role,” said Henry Tan, group CEO of Astro. CK has mentored and worked with Nick for over ten years and Astro is confident that Nick will continue to put Astro at the forefront of sports content.”
