THEMA America’s Patrick Rivet on Kanal D Drama Rollout

Patrick Rivet, CEO of THEMA America, sat down with World Screen’s Mansha Daswani to discuss the momentum of Kanal D Drama and the priorities for the year ahead. Rivet speaks to the opportunities he sees for rolling out niche channels catering to specific communities in today’s competitive—and crowded—landscape.

 

The Kanal D Drama channel was launched in 2018 in a partnership between THEMA and Kanal D. The channel, which brings together the best in Turkish dramas presented in Spanish and HD, has been rolling out across Latin America, with launches in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Uruguay. As of last month, a brand-new deal with Comcast brought Kanal D Drama to the U.S. market. Its success is now expanding beyond the Americas with plans to launch in Europe, Africa and Asia in the near future.
