The Longest Daycare Short Being Brought to TV

LOS ANGELES: The Academy Award-nominated short film Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare” has made its debut in theaters and is now headed to the small screen to air on channels in more than 50 countries.

The four-minute movie, available through Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, will be seen in homes around the world starting February 17. It will broadcast in 3D on select channels as well. The TV debut comes seven days ahead of the Academy Awards. The short features Maggie Simpson as she spends the day at a daycare where she is left alone in a room with children of average intelligence.

“We are thrilled that audiences around the world will be able to see this Oscar-nominated short in 3-D, 2-D or 1-D, as technology permits,” commented Al Jean, writer and producer of the nominated short film, who also serves as executive producer on the FOX series.

I’m very proud of how well the short came out and how well it has been received. Everyone worked so hard on it, and they all did such a terrific job.
