TELETOON Retro Gears Up for Canadian Rollout

TORONTO, September 5: Canada’s TELETOON is preparing for the
October 1 launch of its new digital specialty channel dedicated to classic
cartoons, TELETOON Retro.

TELETOON Retro will offer a nostalgic throwback to timeless
cartoons, including classic characters like Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones,
Scooby-Doo and The Jetsons, among others. The channel will offer substantial
family co-viewing opportunities and will be available as part of the digital
standard package on Bell ExpressVu. Ongoing negotiations with additional
carriers are expected to be finalized by the time of the launch, which is set
for 6 p.m. on October 1.

“TELETOON Retro lets you be a kid again,” said Len Cochrane,
the president of TELETOON Canada. “These classic cartoons have huge appeal. The
characters are iconic pop-culture figures and viewers ask us daily to bring
them back on air. I’m thrilled that our distribution and marketing partners
recognize the channel’s wide appeal and have provided us the opportunity to
launch TELETOON Retro in nearly 2-million homes from day one.”

As of yesterday, TELETOON has been airing a daily one-hour
Retro block to create awareness ahead of the launch.
