Telemundo Scores for Month of January

MIAMI, February 6: The
U.S. Hispanic network Telemundo has become the fastest-growing Spanish-language
network, according to its results for the January NTI survey period, and scored
its best prime-time performance numbers in nearly two years.

According to Nielsen Media
Research data, Telemundo averaged 636,000 adults aged 18 to 49 with a
22-percent share of the viewers watching the three major U.S. Spanish-language
broadcast networks in Monday through Sunday in prime time. This is a 20-percent
increase in delivery (531,000 viewers) and four share points compared to last
year. The network also averaged 688,000 adults in the same demographic with a
22-percent share of Spanish viewers Monday through Friday in prime time,
increasing 20 percent in delivery (575,000 viewers) and four share points from
the year prior.

This is the ninth
consecutive month that the network has posted year-over-year growth in both
Monday through Friday prime time and Monday through Sunday prime time. The
month of January marks the channel’s best prime-time delivery for both week
parts in 23 months. The network also delivered its strongest nightly averages
of the season for a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the
month.
