Amazon has completed its acquisition of certain MX Player assets in India, merging the free streaming app with its own Amazon miniTV service.

Through a newly signed partnership, MX Player users in India will gain access to stream DistroTV’s content lineup with hundreds of channels in India for free.

Insight TV has partnered with MX Player to launch Insight TV across its OTT service in India, as well as on its international platforms in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Nepal.

MX Player, part of the Indian conglomerate Times Internet, is bringing its OTT video service to the U.S. and six other countries, including the U.K. and Australia.
