Succession, Fleabag Score Golden Globes

Succession took home the Golden Globe for best television drama at last night’s awards ceremony, with star Brian Cox scoring a win on the performance side.

Olivia Colman landed the Globe in the drama series arena for her performance in Netflix’s The Crown (though the streamer was largely shut out of the motion picture category despite its slew of nominations).

Fleabag had a big night, receiving the award for best TV musical or comedy, and creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge was recognized with a best actress win. On the actor side of the category, Ramy Youssef took home the award for Ramy.

Chernobyl secured the honors in the limited series or TV movie category, with performance nods going to Russell Crowe for The Loudest Voice and Michelle Williams for Fosse/Verdon.

The supporting actor nods for series, limited series or TV movie went to Patricia Arquette for The Act and Stellan Skarsgård for Chernobyl.

In the motion picture arena, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood won for best musical or comedy and 1917 won for best drama. The best actor winners were Rocketman‘s Taron Egerton for musical or comedy and Joker‘s Joaquin Phoenix for drama. Awkwafina was awarded best actress in a musical or comedy for The Farewell, while Renée Zellweger won for Judy on the drama side.
