Starz Unveils New Weekly Comedy Block

ENGLEWOOD, March 6: Starz Entertainment will launch its new
weekly comedy block The Starz Comedy Hour at
11 p.m. on April 18, featuring original episodes from series such as Head
Case, Martin Lawrence's 1st
Amendment Stand-up and The Bronx
Bunny Show.

The Starz Comedy Hour will
broadcast 10 original episodes of each series for 10 weeks. Head Case
features a thriving “it therapist” to
Hollywood’s elite named Dr. Elizabeth Goode, played by Alexandra Wentworth, who
must deal with Freudian shrink Dr. Myron Finkelstein as he desperately tries to
resurrect his own floundering practice. Hosted by stand-up comedian Doug
Williams, Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up is an uncensored stand-up original comedy showcase
for some of the nation's most talented young comedians, including A. J. Jamal (Comic
Justice), and Roz (Last Comic
Standing), among others. The series is
executive produced by Martin Lawrence. The Bronx Bunny Show features two foul-mouthed furry animals—Bronx
Bunny and his cranky sidekick Teddy T, the politically incorrect
panda—who run a low-rent uncensored public access show out of their East
Los Angeles TV studio/apartment. Stars such as Howie Mandel (Deal or
No Deal), Kelly Carlson (Nip/Tuck), Star Trek's George Takei, Joely Fisher (’Til Death), and Dustin Diamond, Saved By the Bell's Screech, join the two hosts.
